Re-powering of wind farms on Scottish Peninsula

The end of 2019 saw Scottish Ministers approve the re-powering of Tangy Wind Farm located on the Kintyre Peninsula, Scotland.

This project will renew the once used wind farm by installing a new model of wind turbine which is nearly 20m taller than the previous model.

This improvement will aid the efficiency of the turbines, increasing the installed capacity from 18.7MW to a maximum of 80MW.

Renewing old wind farms is one of the many improvements Scotland are implementing to achieve their net-zero ambitions.
