Is there a future in crystal-based solar panels?

Research has been underway at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to develop new forms of solar technology.

The current solar panel market mostly consists of rigid Silicon panels. The production of these panels can be somewhat expensive and also involves a long process.

Researches have found a crystal called Perovskites that may completely change the solar panel market.

These crystals are quicker and easier to make than the current Silicon panels.

The most noteworthy characteristic of these crystals is that in liquid form, can be painted or applied to any surface and will act as a solar panel.
