UKRI has allocated funding for decarbonisation deployment & roadmap projects

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) have allocated the funding for the decarbonisation strategies deployment and roadmap programme.

The programme, run on behalf of the UK Government, is focused on helping the UK achieve net zero by 2050.

As a result of the programme, the government has committed to deploying carbon capture and hydrogen network technologies. This is to support the Industrial Clusters Mission which aims to create the world’s first net zero industrial cluster by 2040.

The first phases are as follows:

  • Deployment – UK businesses applied for a share of £1 million to develop decarbonisation plans
  • Roadmaps – 6 businesses have now been awarded a shares of the £1 million to prepare plans for their journey to net zero
