TEC Energy Bureau Services – What are the Member benefits?
At TEC, we understand the importance of energy data, reporting, and bill validation, and we are dedicated to staying at the forefront of this rapidly-evolving field. Our members rely on us to provide accurate and timely information, and we are committed to meeting and exceeding their expectations.
One key aspect of our energy bureau service is bill validation. Utility bills can be complex and confusing, and errors are not uncommon. These errors can be costly and go unnoticed if bills are not carefully reviewed and validated which is why we offer bill validation services to our members ensuring that they are only paying for the energy and water they use and that their bills are accurate and in line with their contractual agreements. This is already available as part of TEC’s core service, paid for through annual membership and TEC’s scale of charges, so there is no separate charge for this service for our members.
Another important aspect of our energy bureau service is reporting. We provide our members with detailed reports that highlight their energy consumption patterns, this allows members to identify areas of inefficiency, and suggest ways to improve energy performance internally. This has helped members to make sense of their energy data, identify opportunities for improvement, and take action to reduce costs, improve sustainability, and enhance energy security.
Why is energy data so important?
Simply put, you can’t manage what you can’t measure. Energy data provides the foundation for effective energy management, enabling organisations to identify opportunities for cost savings, track progress towards sustainability goals, and improve energy performance over time. Our energy bureau service is designed to help our members make sense of their energy data and use it to drive better outcomes by providing detailed cost and consumption reporting and analysis, giving our members the insight they need to make informed decisions about their energy use.
Enhancing our service – what will the next 12 months bring?
As we approach the start of Q1 23/24 for TEC, we are excited to share our plans for the rest of the year with you. In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in energy data available as technological advances and third-party system API’s have made it easier to collect, manage and monitor energy usage and identify areas where improvements can be made. At TEC, we are committed to staying ahead of the curve regarding energy data and have invested in additional resources and systems advancements to help us provide even better services to our members in the future.
One key area we will focus on in FY23/24 is member accessibility to reporting and the data we hold for our members within TEC. Our members rely on us to provide accurate and detailed reports on their energy usage, and we are committed to ensuring that our reporting facilities and outputs are the best they can be. We will continue investing in new software that will enable us to create more detailed and customised reports in-house, providing our members with the information they need to make informed decisions about their energy usage. We are also pleased to confirm that following member feedback for improved reporting within the Mitie VIEW portal, we will launch Actual (billed) vs Forecast Budget with exception reporting, available to all, in Q1 23/24. Further updates will be made available closer to release.
In addition to improving our reporting capabilities, we have enhanced services by delivering water bill validation this year. We know that energy bills can be complex, and we are committed to ensuring our members are not overpaying for their energy or water usage. To achieve this, we are investing in additional product features that will enable us to validate energy bills quicker, produce payment files, reduce the time reports are received before payment, identify any discrepancies and provide a full query resolution service, ensuring you do not only pay for what you have used but receive correct credit bills more quickly and free up back office time for our members.
We believe these investments are crucial for our members, and we are excited to roll out these and other new features over the coming months. Our members rely on us to provide the best possible service, and we are committed to meeting and exceeding your expectations.
