Record breaking 6.4m retail customers switched supplier in 2019
2019 was a record breaking year for switching retail electricity suppliers, states Energy UK.
The 6.4 million consumers that switched meant there was an average 12 switches every minute.
These numbers show an increase of 9% compared to 2018, with switches in December 12% higher than the previous year.
In a market where the ‘big six’ once dominated, small and medium suppliers are now climbing their way up.
There are now around 60 energy suppliers and it is evident that consumers are benefiting from the innovative products and services that they provide.
