Offshore wind farms are expected to reach 165GW by 2030
ReThink Energy has found that offshore wind farms are expected to reach 165GW by 2030 and even hit 418GW by 2040.
The expansion of this technology is now expected to provide 5% of global electricity within the next 20 years.
Furthermore, this expansion is predicted to provide up to 8 million jobs but will require $1.3 trillion in investment.
Europe is set to be overtaken by the Asia Pacific region in terms of the largest market. Alongside this, China is expected to overtake the UK with most wind farms installed by 2026.
