NESO Early View of Winter 2026/2027: a comfortable outlook for the UK’s electricity supply

Britain will have enough electricity supply this winter according to the national grid operator. In its 2026/2027 Early View of Winter, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) has projected secure and reliable power with electricity margins stronger than during the 2022 energy crisis. This is despite the prolonged period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty which could affect commodity markets this winter.
