Gas Balancing Notification
As many of you will have read or seen over recent weeks, there is a very real possibility of gas rationing within Europe. Whilst the possibility of this within the UK is slim, there are steps we may need to take to assist our European neighbours. For the UK, the National Grid ESO Winter Outlook early view, points to the supply margins being comfortable. We need to be mindful that they have assumed that interconnectors will be importing at periods of system stress and contractual penalties may not be sufficient to guarantee delivery in light of significant Winter pricing levels.
The following document provides an explanation of the different National Gas Supply Emergency (NGSE) Stages applicable in the UK, and what steps are required at each stage.
