Volunteering in a global crisis

A student from London Metropolitan University travelled to Sierra Leone, West Africa, to volunteer her skills to the Ebola crisis.

She used skills learnt in her Biomedical Science BSc course to help build labs and develop treatments.

She collaborated with a team to create a positive impact on a struggling population. A point of view that was supported by London Metropolitan University.

Her journey in science began due to her want to help others and this opportunity let her put her skills to the test.

Despite the sweltering heat, she pushed through to set up equipment and strived to ensure the facilities were of a high standard.

This journey was supported by the University as one of the many ways that they collaborate with different organisations to save lives and keep humanity healthy.
