UK and Europe most attractive destinations for future renewables investment
Octopus energy have published their first renewable energy investment report revealing the size of the opportunity for future renewable investment. This concluded that both the UK and Europe are the most attractive destinations for investment based on a survey of global institutional investors.
Published on Monday 11 February, the report also found that 55% of current investors in the sector prioritise investment in the UK. Additionally, 52% of respondents said that better support from the government would encourage them to increase their investment in renewables. It was also found that 42% of institutional investors already invested in the renewables sector are to increase allocations to renewable energy by up to 10% over the next five years, with none planning to decrease.
