Three ‘Gas from trash’ biomethane plants are still on track to launch this year

Despite the knock-on effects of the pandemic, three biomethane plants are still on track to begin operation this year. Two plants will be supported by Severn Trent Water and the third will also have assistance from Cadent.

It has been suggested that sourcing biomethane from farm, human, food and other waste, could be a ‘key stage’ in the UK’s achievement of net zero.

In addition to this, two new bio-compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelling stations will be opening up in Birmingham and Merseyside.
