TEC renews partnership of Womens Utilities Network (WUN) for a second year

Ahead of International Women’s Day, we are delighted to announce the renewal of our partnership with the Womens Utilities Network (WUN) for another year. WUN is a network for women in the utilities sector which offers a vast range of resources, networking opportunities and support including a mentoring service.

Partnering with WUN is a fantastic opportunity to share and support the group’s great work across our team and the wider TEC membership. It is important to celebrate and recognise the achievements of women across both the utilities and higher education sectors, continuing to work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive society for all.

Adam Clarke, Managing Director of TEC, said: “It has been a pleasure to partner with WUN during the last year and we look forward to forging closer links between the group and our members. Whilst the utilities sector strives to increase diversity, WUN plays a really important role in promoting and attracting more women into this dynamic sector.”

During the last year WUN made excellent progress and now has more than 6,000 members united around a common cause. However, the energy and utility sector industries continue to be male dominated across almost all reported areas with women making up only 26.1% of the sector’s workforce. This is below the UK workforce average of 48%. TEC is committed to supporting WUN to help build a community of women who can connect, support, develop and encourage one another.
