TEC Procures £1 Billion 5th Generation Flexible Energy Supply Framework

Having issued the ITT in December 2019, and that after a period of significant pre-engagement with potential supply partners, we are delighted to launch our new flexible energy (gas and power) framework which commences in October 2020.

Building on the unique features of the current framework, procured in 2015 and commencing in October 2016, this latest framework gives access to energy supply arrangements with 2 of the country’s largest, and THE most significant energy suppliers to the Public Sector, Corona Energy for natural gas and EDF Energy for electricity. The aggregation of TEC member demand under these frameworks is more significant than ever, with over £1 billion of energy expected to be supplied through the arrangements.

The framework is a platform for TEC’s other offerings which include Bill Validation, Evidence of Spend and Savings aligned to sector reporting requirements and further Power Purchase Agreements. It is also an example of collaboration in action as we used the expertise and shared resource of London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) to ensure a robust and compliant procurement process was followed and evidenced.

This latest framework ensures TEC members can stay at the cutting edge of energy supply arrangements, including accessing long term renewable electricity to support Net Zero Carbon aspirations. The successful suppliers know they have the highest standards to meet in providing services in support of these arrangements. We feel proud to echo that they consider TEC and our members to be a challenging customer in pushing them towards even higher standards not available elsewhere.

Further details of this framework can be found in a comprehensive framework award report (available to members only) here.
