Scotland to tackle climate crisis through Artificial Intelligence

The Scottish Government have given £170,000 for funding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in tackling climate change.

The Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund has provided six applicants to develop AI solutions.

The projects under development range from thermal imaging to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to creating more productive food supply chains.

As one of the first countries to recognise the climate crisis, Scotland are hoping to develop new technologies such as AI to achieve their emissions targets.

Kate Forbes, Digital Economy Minister, discussed her excitement in seeing how the AI will develop. Further to this, she believes the support from the country as a leader in technical innovation, will push the development of AI forwards.
