Net zero carbon neighbourhood to be developed in Wales

Neath Port Talbot Council have given the go ahead to develop one of the first ever net zero carbon neighbourhoods in Wales.

The 35 new home development will use technologies such as onsite solar panels, thermal and electrical storage and ground source heat pumps. It will also be built via a low energy building design.

Further to this, residents of this area wont have to pay energy bills as long as they are within the forecast levels. This should be easily achieved with the mixture of renewable energy that will be used.

The developer, Sero Homes, is hoping that this £8 million development will demonstrate to the UK and the world, what a sustainable, great quality, zero carbon neighbourhood could look like. They also hope that it will inspire others to follow their lead in a time when a change needs to be made.
