Green Gown Awards Celebrate Initiatives in Addressing Climate Action

Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland in association with UKR held their first ever virtual ceremony on Wednesday 24^th March 2021. They celebrated the inspirational work and projects of 74 Finalists in 12 different categories showing the importance of sustainability commitments even in the most unprecedented of times.

The Energy Consortium proudly continued our support for this event and sponsored the 2030 Climate Action category.  The submissions focused on steps that institutions are planning and taking to reach net-zero emissions.

All entries were strong and highlighted the fantastic and innovative work to reach these targets, despite the many challenges of the last year. After tough judging the Highly Commended Award was awarded to Plymouth University and the winner was University College London.

TEC want to congratulate all entries and winners, the awards ceremony has clearly demonstrated that our Sector is playing a vital role in tackling climate action.
