Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council have released their final draft proposals to implement the first Zero Emission Zone (ZEZ) in the UK.

The draft proposal outlines key points such as;

• A charging scheme between the hours of 7am-7pm
• Discounts for blue badge holders
• Exemptions for businesses in the registered area
• Discount for residents
• Agreed timelines for public transport fleets across Oxford

The scheme is expected to improve air pollution and reduce health risks for residents of Oxford.
