BP Statistical Review of World Energy: 2019 at a glance

2019 saw carbon emissions increase which has undone some of the progress the previous year. This was paired with a slow growth in primary energy consumption but what growth there was, was driven by renewables and natural gas. The rise of renewables also displaced coal from the energy mix in which its consumption declined to 0.6% and its share in primary energy fell to the lowest its seen in 16 years.
