First EV charging forecourt is under construction in the UK

The UK’s first electric vehicle (EV) charging forecourt is under construction in Essex.

Once completed, the Great Notley site will be able to charge 24 cars simultaneously within 30 minutes. Once technology improves, this time is set to reduce.

Furthermore, the solar powered site is being built on a 2.5 acre plot and is the 1st in a billion pound network of EV forecourts that will appear across the UK.

In addition to the forecourt, EV shops and an education will also be located on site.

Gridserve, the company behind this development believes that the forecourt will encourage the usage of EVs. Currently, people are concerned about how to charge these vehicles once purchase. This forecourt gives them a solution. Therefore providing confidence in electric transport.
