In difficult financial circumstances, energy conservation – ensuring that energy is only used when necessary – can yield excellent cost and carbon savings. Cardiff Metropolitan University have reduced gas consumption by over 20% in the first nine months of the academic year vs the same period last year, by identifying utilities waste and implementing a series of control measures. The resulting impressive reduction in energy spend, in the hundreds of thousands, has been delivered from within existing maintenance budgets. Their insights have led to cross-organisational analysis of member data by TEC that suggests there might be significant potential for others to do the same at scale.
Many organisations try this, so how have Cardiff Met been so successful? In this webinar and question and answer session, Graham Lewis and Lee Davies from the University will talk about their approach, and how it has potential relevance across other sectors.
