Energy UK urges Government to keep to net-zero target following Brexit

On the 31st January 2020 the UK officially left the European Union.

Energy UK’s interim chief executive, Audrey Gallacher, commented that the new era for the UK will see us enter negotiations with the EU regarding future relations.

In addition to this, she added that Energy UK look forward to working with the UK government  to achieve a deal that will support our decarbonisation targets.

Furthermore, she hopes that the deal will support the economy on this journey whilst creating new opportunities.

Ultimately, Energy UK hopes that the deal will provide a framework for collaboration and cooperation. It should deliver clean and affordable energy to consumers. They also believe that new benefits need to be created whilst preserving exiting ones.

They hope this type of deal will set the way in tackling climate change.
